Between us is a duet. A dance installation performance. An exhibition in a small gallery space, with live dance performance, video installation and exhibit of visual art. A multi-collaborative piece, with emerging artists in the fields of illustration, textiles, and animation.

The piece was premiered online on April 30th 2021 @1pm  as part of Taking Flight 2021: A showcase of collaborative choreographies by BA Dance and Drama  at Performing Arts Studio Scotland.

Between us explores human connection, trust and platonic intimacy.

This past year so many of our connections and relationships became virtual, I wanted to explore how dancers can still move together in contact without being in actual physical contact but still very much connected. The dancers are moving with and connected by string, which has been handmade – spun and dyed by Beth Lukockyj, allowing for socially distant performance. The string representing the relationship and connection between two people, and the physical space between them.
